First Lady Melania Trump announced on November 28, 2025, the creation of her own film production company, Muse Films, coinciding with the theatrical release of her first project—a documentary titled Melania that offers an intimate look at the 20 days leading up to President Donald Trump's January 2025 inauguration. In a post on X, Trump shared a 10-second motion graphic unveiling the company's sleek silver logo—a stylized "M" against a black backdrop—stating, "PRESENTING: MUSE FILMS. My new production company. MELANIA, the film, exclusively in theaters worldwide on January 30th, 2026." The venture marks Trump's entry into Hollywood production, following her 2024 memoir Melania, which became a New York Times bestseller.

The documentary, directed by Brett Ratner in his first film since 2017's The Lego Ninjago Movie, provides unprecedented access to Trump's private world during the transition period, capturing her orchestration of inauguration plans, navigation of White House preparations, and reentry into public life alongside President Trump and their son, Barron, then 19. Trump serves as executive producer alongside Fernando Sulichin of New Element Media, with production beginning in December 2024. Amazon MGM Studios acquired worldwide rights in March 2025 for a reported $40 million, the highest sum for a documentary acquisition, and plans a limited theatrical run followed by streaming on Prime Video. The film features exclusive footage of critical meetings, confidential conversations, and never-before-seen environments, emphasizing Trump's perspective on her role and family dynamics.

Trump's move into production aligns with a trend among former first ladies, including Michelle Obama's Higher Ground Productions, which has yielded Oscar-nominated films like American Factory (2019). Trump, known for her guarded approach to media during her husband's first term, has selectively engaged in public storytelling, as seen in her 2024 memoir and September 2024 X post teasing the film: "My Story. My Perspective. The Truth." Muse Films' debut project underscores Trump's focus on controlled narrative, avoiding traditional interviews in favor of self-produced content. No further projects have been announced, but the company's formation signals potential expansion into documentaries or series exploring themes of leadership and family resilience.
